Meet the Teacher

Hello!  My name is Jaclyn Carmack and I have taught 5th grade for 11 years (and counting).  I grew up in a little town in Southeast Missouri called Dexter.  When it came time to go to college, I knew I wanted to attend Mizzou!  I loved the bigger city and diversity that came along with this wonderful town.  I taught in Sikeston, Missouri, for 6 years and was lucky enough to move back to Columbia in the summer of 2016.  My husband got a job at Veteran's United and I got hired at Rock Bridge Elementary - all within a month!  I am so happy to be a part of the Rock Bridge family.  It is such a wonderful school and environment.  I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Here is a little more information about me:

This is me in the fifth grade!  Cheerleading remained an important part of my life throughout high school!  Go Green Team! :)

My mother and sister are my best friends for life.  We FaceTime every single day because my mom lives in Dexter, MO and my sister lives in Knoxville, TN.

Family is so important to me.  I love to spend time with them whenever possible.  Growing up and moving away from each other, it's important to keep in touch and stay close!

My father, Roy, also lives in Southeast Missouri in a small town called Bloomfield.  We stay close despite the distance and see each other as often as possible.

My family and I frequent Hilton Head Island, SC at least once a year.  We have a home on Daufuskie Island and absolutely love spending time with each other away from good ole' Missouri.  Pictured are some more of my wonderful family - including my step-father and his daughter along with her family.

I married my life partner on March 23, 2013 whom I met in Sikeston, Missouri.  His name is Sam Carmack and he used to work full time in the National Guard.  He recently changed careers and is now a loan officer at Veteran's United.  I'm thankful for the change in career so we could move back to this town that I love!!

Sam and I found our first baby in July of 2011.  Oliver Robert Carmack is my sweet shih tzu whom I love VERY much.  My family has a strong love for shih tzu's. (see below)

Our second baby came along in October of 2012.  Bailey Jean Carmack is a sweet, lovable pitbull and our first rescue.  She was badly mistreated as a pup and now she is happy and healthy.  She thinks she is a lap dog and wants nothing more than to be pet all day long.

In the middle, Mong Mong (means Woof Woof in Korean) is my sister, Jessica's dog.  We found her when we lived together in Columbia during our college years.  Everyone fell in love with her so much that I next got Oliver and my mom then got George (pictured on the left).  Like I said, we have a strong love for shih tzus.

My first HUMAN baby was born on March 16, 2014 (same day as my sister's birthday).  Her name is Naomi Kim Carmack and she is absolutely perfect.  With hair as red as fire, she is such a blessing to my family.

She is currently six years old and a little spitfire.  She is so smart, funny, and keeps me on my toes.  She is in first grade this year at RBE! My world would not be the same without this sweet angel in my life.

My sister has two baby girls named Ari and Celine.  I love them very much!
